The Sunnynook Solar PV was acquired in December 2021, expanding the Company’s footprint in Southern Alberta, Canada and encompasses 940 acres. The project area has a strong solar resource, which is characteristic of Alberta’s exceptional solar irradiance.
Sunnynook’s capacity was expanded in January 2023 from 236 MWp Solar PV to 332 MWp. Sunnynook is expected to be permitted for utility-scale battery storage on site. The site is secured for 4 years of development and 40 years of operation, which can be extended to 50 years. The project is currently undergoing AESO interconnection.
