The Sunnynook solar and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) project is a 332 MWdc solar photovoltaic project with a 200 MWh BESS located in Special Area No. 2, Alberta, Canada. The project has secured approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) and is currently at Stage 4 in the AESO connection process, which completes approval for the interconnection facilities and is the final stage before construction. Once operational, the Sunnynook project is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 49,950 homes.
